Optimizing a E-Commerce Website Part-I
Years back; I used to think of website making as a bit of a menial work; and I used to consider deep and heavy logic-oriented c++ programming as God-work.
But I guess the world has changed in all these years and so have I. And having chased cashflow so long, I guess I've started to understand what the Texans say when they say "Cash is king"... and in that vein; I've started to understand how important all the functions are where techology exposes itself to non-technical people and all the jobs where technology makes it possible for enterprises and businesses to reach out to the world.
Do blogs really count ? Part-I
Yup... atleast I think blogs do count.
Personally there have been atleast a few blogs in recent times that have had a impact on me; forced me to re-think atleast a few of the notions I had baked into my head in the last few years.
I'm going to talk more about those notions and how they changed in forthcoming posts.
But yes; before I actually put those notions accross; I'll say yes, blogs do count; and a few of the blogs that were eye openers for me include (but are not limited to):
DSTech... Whats DSTech ?
Yup... what's DSTech ? That's the question everyone thats seen us in any of our previous avatars might want to ask us.
And having been at a conference recently where I asked the principle of a consulting firm; 'hey... what's BDAConnect ?' and the answer 'BDAConnect'... well we're a consulting firm and BDA dont expand to any acronym... to which I gave a cynical 'well... maybe it doesnt expand for you; but am sure the founders would have had something in mind... when they said BDA...'.
DSTech... here we go- The Inaugural Blog Post...
Hi Folks...
Welcome onboard the DSTech Journey. It had been on the cards for quite some time now, to re-brand our online presence as something that's more direct, in-your-face instead of our earlier avatar which was more focussed on sharing stuff at a more abstract level.
What triggered this ?
Well... Nalin gave his visiting-card to someone-- and the gentleman called him back-- invited Nalin to a event that offered to showcase his company to investors and fellow-entrepreneurs- a thought that made Nalin almost jump out of his skin- because his company just wasnt ready for that.
